Our Structures Group has the capabilities and staff to match the largest local firms in Florida, with a broad spectrum of experience to meet any project’s needs. We offer design expertise ranging from miscellaneous structures to the most complex bridges, including major interchange structures, high-level water crossing bridges, and structure rehabilitation projects.
PGA structures staff is familiar with districtwide structures contracts, general engineering structure-type contracts, and regular transportation design contracts, and additionally supports FDOT in seven out of eight districts. We also work closely with FDOT implementing new technologies, such as the use of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) reinforcement on the District One US 41 over North Creek bridge replacement project, and we were the prime on District One’s first Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil-Integrated Bridge System (GRS-IBS) pedestrian bridge—the Legacy Trail Overpass over Laurel Road. We also have experience working on design-build projects such as the SR 821 (HEFT) Widening from N. of SW 40th Street to SR 836 and the Gateway Expressway/I-275 from S. of Gandy Blvd. to N. of 4th St. N.
Our structural projects (bridges and miscellaneous structures) have all been constructed without any contractor claims, which is a testament to our quality of work and expertise.
