This is a full-time opportunity for college graduates who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and have obtained their Engineering Intern (EI) license. We will also consider those who are in the process of obtaining their EI License.
Purpose & Need
As PGA’s newest service line, our Civil Site Group is busy building a strong client base and project backlog with some of Tampa’s most prominent institutions and companies. Civil Site engineers play a vital role in creating and maintaining the built environment. From helping design and build the structures that shape our communities, to coordinating and permitting drainage and utility systems, their role has become increasingly vital with the evolution of sustainable and resilient infrastructure practices. PGA seeks someone who is eager to support a diverse array of projects and grow professionally as the practice grows. What you'll Do
- Proficient in land development plans production and technical writing
- Understand the concepts of hydrology, including time of concentration calculations
- Understand the concepts of ditch design and cross drain design
- Understand the concepts of storm sewer design, including pipe hydraulics and spread analysis (InfraWorks by AutoDesk)
- Understand the concepts of site grading analysis
- Understand the concepts of pond design, including the calculation of treatment and attenuation volumes, nutrient loading calculations, and hydraulic modeling (ICPR)
- Gain the concepts of floodplain impacts and compensation
- Effectively research projects and assist with marketing efforts from a drainage point of view
- Gain proficiency in all drainage design standards, manuals, and design criteria
- Gain proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR
- Gain proficiency in concepts of utility design
- Gain proficiency in technical writing
- Understand the concepts of basic signing and pavement markings
- Perform field reviews as required
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or
- Environmental Engineering
- 0-4 years of post-graduation experience
- Engineering Intern (EI) certificate

- Knowledge of CADD Systems
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be able to effectively prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work efforts
- Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
- Skill in working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products
